Whaaat? I did a layout FOR FUN??

It really has been a while since I've done a page just for fun. I'm always doing sketches or prompts for my DT commitments. Last night, my hubbs had CQ, which is a 24 hour shift. I was bored and couldn't sleep, so I decided to scrap. That's weird in itself, because normally I am a morning scrapper. Well, I was browsing the blog world and saw this week's Sketchy Thursdays sketch. As soon as I saw it, I knew this Crate Paper line would be perfect for it! And any excuse to play with some Crate Paper is a good enough excuse for me! =)

Where have I been?

Well.. my parents were in town for 9 days. It was a great 9 days, even though it was a little chilly out here on the central coast. They're back safe and sound in Alabama now though.

Since things have returned back to normal in the Smith house, I finally got a little scrapping done this morning. I did a sketch for Sketchy Thursday's sketch challenge this week.

My monkey eats maps.

So I guess I'm getting used to this whole blog thing. I've been blog hopping. And since I've been blog hopping, I've discovered that I'm the last person on earth to find out about Sketchy Thursdays. I decided to do this week's sketch.
Here's my layout...I love these pictures! This was from our trip to the San Diego zoo. We went down to meet my husband's dad for the first time. When I say "meet him for the first time" I mean FIRST TIME.. Daniel too. Another great thing about the day was that we also got to meet up with my friend that I met when we lived in North Carolina, Katie. She lives in southern California, too. The day was great, even if my little monkey did eat our map. =)
