I am one frustrated crafter today....

I've just got to vent. I set out today to find some Fancy Pants paper, possibly some Halloween paper and embellishments, and some black Thickers. That was all in the world I needed. While I know that finding scrapbook supplies in countries other than the US is very hard (and I promise that I am grateful to even have the opportunity to shop in actual stores for supplies), but I must live in the black hole of the US. I have been to many, many Michael's stores in my day, but I have never seen such a horrible one than my local one. No one knows anything about the products they carry, nor about their store events. And get this... I didn't find any black Thickers. What?!!

So I decided to head to Beverly's, which is the only other craft store anywhere near here. I figured, if anything, I could find some Fancy Pants. They're usually really good about carrying manufacturers that I normally use. Nope. No FP. And hardly any Halloween stuff. I did find some black Thickers, but they only had 3 different sets and I didn't REALLY like any of them. Oh well.

On the bright side, Michaels is having a 50% off sale on their punches!! WOOO!!! And get this... (Are you guys sitting down? You may faint....) I finally bought a circle punch!! I've never, ever had a circle punch in the many years that I've been scrapbooking. Oh, and that circle punch brings my grand total of punches to a whopping FOUR. LOL! Insane, I know.

On a side note, I haven't actually bought any supplies (other than the $30 I spent at the Scrapbook Expo) since May *GASP*. After glancing around 2 whole stores, all I could find that I just couldn't live without was a circle punch, 2 sets of CC Tiny Type, a Tim Holtz mask (which was on clearance for $1.99 at Michaels), 1 set of Thickers, and 3 bottles of acrylic paint. That's it. Out of 2 whole, entire stores that's all I bought. Sad. Sooo I gave up and spent the rest of my money on McDonalds.. hahaha! =)

Hey Dani - understand the frustration. Even in a city there are days like that :) I only just found out that you can now apply the discount coupons to Martha Stewart items!! I've been a punch virgin until just recently - shhh I have one corner punch that I bought on sale last year. LOL

LOL Dani~I hear you about the punches. I've only been using them for about a yr and I'm not even sure but I don't think I have a cirlce either! My Michaels stinks too!! Paper section is terrible and I don't think I've ever seen thickers there. Now that my LSS closed I usually just mail order my stuff. Have you ever checked out Peachy Cheap? Sometimes they have Thickers for a good price. Ok super long post over now! Take care.

I am so sorry to hear about your day. I was just on a mini trip and bought the stores out. Check out my blog to see my goodies :)

I know how you feel. I live in a place where there are no lss. No regular craft stores. We have Michaels but they seriously only sell six thickers. Not six styles or six colors. Total number of varieties, six. Online is the way to shop.

Hey Dani, I finally got up to date with blogs etc. and couldnt help but feel your frustration with this. I found online to be my friend and foe. Friend that I can find anything, foe in that I keep spending $$$$$.....
We have LSS near here but they are either way too expensive or only carry so much stock that it's gone before you know it. A lot of the times people round here pre-order stuff so its gone before its on the shelves.
Hope you finally got what you needed.
I am a big owner of 2 puches too! One circle punch and one corner rounder. The others are border punches but not sure if that counts yet that would increase my total of punches to a big fat 5!! LOL
Have a great day :D
